Writer, Producer, Journalist, Editor, Podcaster

I’m an Indian-American NYC-based journalist and audio producer who has worked for Sony Podcasts, Los Angeles Times, William Morris Endeavor, Amazon, Wondery, VICE News, and more. I’ve reported, written and produced several limited run series – from chart-topping true-crime to heart-wrenching memoir. Six podcasts I’ve worked on have been in the Apple Top 20, three of which ranked #1.

I graduated with a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst, and received a Graduate Certificate in Radio Documentary from the Salt Institute at Maine College of Arts. In 2017, I was chosen to be an AIR New Voices Scholar.

Side note — I’m writing a novel that has nothing and everything to do with what I’ve worked on. I was even a 2024 Periplus Finalist for it. Ping if you’re interested ;)

Selected Work

I was the senior producer, reporter, and co-writer on House of Skulls, an Audible production that won the AIDC award for Best Audio Documentary. Hosted by Marc Fennell.

”In a classroom in one of the most prestigious universities in America, hundreds of human skulls line the wall, from every corner of the earth. How did they get there, and why collect human skulls in the first place? Join award-winning journalist Marc Fennell as he takes you on a captivating global journey through the mysterious Morton Cranial Collection.”

I was the senior producer, reporter, and co-writer on Somethin’ Else, Sony, and Vespucci’s Hemingway’s Picasso. Hosted by Leah Carroll.

“Steve Kough lived many lives. He was an NFL journeyman, a male model, and one of the most well-connected smugglers in 1980’s Miami, the ‘Drug Capital of the World.’ Kough collected many souvenirs from his adventures, but his most treasured bounty – a beautiful ceramic, crafted by Pablo Picasso and gifted to Ernest Hemingway at the author’s Cuban home, the Finca Vigia... or so the story goes.”

I wrote, hosted and produced Love Under Lockdown, a radio diary show for Paradiso that was nominated for a Webby award for Documentary Limited Series.

“Love Under Lockdown plunges us into the intimate daily lives of four couples quarantining together in the pressure cooker of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through raw, confessional audio and a moody original score, Love Under Lockdown is both a time capsule of the strangest year of our lives, and a timeless meditation on love in all its forms.”

I produced Wondery’s Bad Batch, which won a Gold New York Festival Radio Award and reached the #1 spot on Apple Podcasts. Hosted by Laura Beil.

“Patients in search of a miracle cure end up in critical condition. The race is on to find out what went wrong before more people get hurt. The trail leads back to a medical company with slick marketing and a charismatic CEO. And to a multibillion dollar stem cell industry where greed and desperation collide.”

I was the associate producer on this series for Wondery through Neon Hum Media.

I helped produce Wondery’s Dr. Death, which reached the #1 spot on Apple Podcasts and was downloaded over 50 million times in the first year. Later, it was adapted for TV by NBCUniversal. Hosted by Laura Beil.

“Dr. Christopher Duntsch was a neurosurgeon who claimed he was the best in Dallas. But over two years, Christopher Duntsch performed surgery on 38 patients, injuring 33 and killing 2 of them. From Wondery, Dr. Death is about a medical system that failed to protect these patients at every possible turn.”

I helped develop Vespucci and Imperative Entertainment’s Bonaparte, an Apple Top 20 podcast, which was ranked Best Podcasts of 2022 by Paste Magazine. Hosted by Jason Stavers.

“It’s been 25 years since Anne Champion’s friend was killed, but the case was never solved. When Anne, now a prominent Manhattan attorney, gets an unexpected phone call from an old friend, it compels her to return to Iowa, her childhood home, to try and piece together the events around Laura Van Wyhe’s mysterious death.”

I helped produce Wondery’s Operator, which reached the #1 spot on Apple Podcasts. Hosted by Tina Horn.

“During the 1-900 number craze of the Nineties, one company provided the vast majority of phone sex. American Telnet was an empire founded by the man who called himself ‘The Telephone Pimp.’ He ran the company ‘like General Motors’ and got filthy rich doing it. But for the (mostly) women who answered the calls and delivered fantasies 24-7, it was a different story. The powerful stigma against sex work was always lurking just beneath the surface, until it threatened to tear apart the whole company.”

I helped with editing and story structure for the Drag Audio Production House at University of Texas - Austin

I helped with editing and story structure for the Drag Audio Production House at University of Texas - Austin’s The Orange Tree, an Apple Top 20 podcast. Hosted by Tinu Thomas and Haley Butler.

“The Orange Tree is a documentary podcast series telling the story the 2005 murder of 21-year-old Jennifer Cave. The brutal crime scene at the Orange Tree Condos in Austin’s West Campus area shook the city. Two top University of Texas students were convicted and three families’ lives were changed forever.”

I helped produce William Morris Endeavor’s American Jihadi , which reached #12 on Apple Podcasts. Hosted by Christof Putzel.

”American Jihadi is the incredible story of a complicated relationship between journalist Christof Putzel and Omar Hammami, the American-born Christian who became one of the FBI’s most wanted Islamic extremists. Follow the evolution of their risky relationship, dodging government surveillance to confide in one other—until it all came to an abrupt end.”

I co-produced season 2 of this series for Spotify through Neon Hum Media.

I co-produced season 2 of Lenny Letter’s and Spotify’s Lenny Says through Neon Hum. Hosted by Liz Watson.

”Lenny Says is a weekly podcast dedicated to showcasing stories and essays by womxn and gender non-conforming people by Spotify.”

I helped produce VICE’s Strongman. Hosted by Hind Hassan.

“Strongman figures—those who rule by threats, force, and violence—are found at all levels of society: from abusive romantic partners, to corrupt cops, leaders of terrorist organizations, and authoritarian heads of state. This is a series of intimate narratives from across the globe about power and control, and how these dynamics shape our lives.”

"Cannibalism has been used for centuries to define the lowest form of humanity, but the story isn't as straightforward as it may seem. Turns out, there may be a logic - or even a love - to eating people.Audio: "Consumed" for Ministry of IdeasPrint: …

I helped produce Season 2 of Ministry of Ideas and developed and reported Episode 13. Hosted by Zachary Davis.

“Cannibalism has been used for centuries to define the lowest form of humanity, but the story isn't as straightforward as it may seem. Turns out, there may be a logic - or even a love - to eating people.”

Here are the pieces I created during my semester at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies. In Portland, ME - a city that's over 80% white - I noticed these strong support systems for POCs. I focused my pieces around these "Helpers of Color."
